We are passionate about improving medication safety.

In 2011, we set out to create technologies that transform medication safety for patients, clinicians and industry. Our team includes clinical, industrial engineering and computer science experts that have been working together for more than a decade on tough safety issues. Our goal has been to develop solutions to patient safety challenges in unique and novel ways.

Patrick Hymel

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Patrick Hymel, MD has focused on patient safety issues throughout his career as a physician entrepreneur. His aim is to ensure technology improves patient outcomes without disrupting the clinician-patient relationship. Prior to founding MedSnap, Dr. Hymel co-founded MedMined, Inc., where he led the effort to expand state-wide hospital-acquired infection prevention initiatives across the country. MedMined was acquired by Cardinal Health in 2006, and Dr. Hymel remained as vice president and general manager until 2009. Dr. Hymel earned his Doctor of Medicine and completed an Emergency Medicine residency at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans.

Stephen Brossette

Chief Science Officer & Co-founder

Stephen Brossette, MD, PhD leads the team that develops the computer vision and statistical techniques used in MedSnap systems. Prior to co-founding MedSnap, Dr. Brossette co-founded MedMined, Inc., which was acquired by Cardinal Health in 2006. He served as vice president at Cardinal Health until 2009. Dr. Brossette was honored by MIT's Technology Review as one of the world's top 100 young innovators in 2002 and is the author of a number of peer-reviewed scientific papers.
